Mirroring the reflective surroundings of the nearby lake and the Opale foundation’s own facade, the immersive sculptural and moving image exhibition, Mirrormap, explores the parallels between human empathy and the functioning of neural networks in AI. One of the most important scientific discoveries of the last decade, mirror neurons are a key component of human social behaviour. Drawing comparisons to the technological structures on which AI works, the exhibition transcends traditional boundaries and fosters a deeper understanding of our shared posthuman condition.
