In September 2024, MAZE collaborated with MIRA Art Fair for its inaugural edition, presented at the Maison de l’Amérique Latine in Paris. Dedicated to contemporary art from Latin America, MIRA introduced a focused and ambitious platform, positioning itself as a reference point for the region within an international context.
This collaboration aligned with MIRA’s ambition to bring visibility to a diverse and dynamic artistic landscape, while reinforcing its dialogue with established voices on the global stage. Set within the refined and institutional environment of the Maison de l’Amérique Latine, the fair unfolded as a tightly curated presentation, where each gallery contributed to a precise and coherent vision.
The selection brought together leading galleries representing key scenes across Latin America and beyond, including Albarrán Bourdais, BAQ, El Apartamento, Max Estrella, Galleria Continua, Mayoral, Proyectos Monclova, Revolver, and 193 Gallery. This was complemented by a curated section featuring internationally recognized galleries such as Air de Paris, Galerie Laurent Godin, Marian Goodman, Mennour, Galerie Nathalie Obadia, and The Modern Institute. Together, they formed a dialogue between geographies, generations, and positions, reflecting a carefully balanced curatorial structure.
Through this collaboration, MAZE contributed to shaping an inaugural moment defined by clarity, selectivity, and curatorial intent. MIRA’s format echoed MAZE’s own approach to exhibition-making—favoring precision over volume, and context over accumulation—while emphasizing the importance of presenting artworks within a meaningful spatial and conceptual framework.
This project reflects a shared commitment to developing new formats for contemporary art—formats that prioritize quality, narrative coherence, and the construction of environments where works can be experienced, understood, and engaged with in depth.
